Our Employees
Our employees are the most important part of our operation. We search for applicants that are outwardly friendly and genuinely caring. After all, they are the single most important influence on our customers. We are in the business of "Creating Memories Worth Repeating"™ and our employees have to buy into the philosophy of treating our guests like members of our family. Jack Herschend, co-founder of Silver Dollar City, is quoted saying, "Our Vision and Mission Statements would 'ring hollow' but for the caring, committed folks that make our family. Because of them, we can be the best in the world at delivering both." Silver Dollar City Attractions staffs around 2200 seasonal full and part time, as well as year round employees throughout the four properties located in Branson, Missouri. Each one is hand selected through an interview process geared to select the best. At Silver Dollar City Attractions, we recognize the experience and talents full-time RVers possess. We want to provide an exciting opportunity that will fit your time, talents and interests. Whether you are interested in a full-time or a part-time seasonal position, we may be able to find a match for you.
Our Employment Process
If you are interested in becoming a member of our family, you may contact our office by calling 417-338-3988 or you can email us. Once we have made contact and established that we have something of interest for you, we will mail an employment packet to you for your consideration. Applications are included in this packet. When our office receives your completed application, we will contact you to set a time for an interview. We know that you are traveling the beautiful countryside and are not always able to take advantage of the face to face interviews that we usually conduct.
Our Operating Schedule
Our operating season opens in March and continues through the end of April with a 4-5 day schedule. May, June, July and most of August see us in peak season, open 7 days a week and welcoming over 2 million guests through our gates. At the end of August through the end of December we will go back to a limited schedule. Employees typically work 4-5 days with 2 or 3 off in between. If you plan to come with a partner / spouse, we will make every effort to coordinate your schedules. Subject to department needs, this coordination may not always be possible, since departments do not lock you into a specific shift for the season. We ask for your understanding with this process. Your supervisor might schedule one of you to come in earlier than the other one, or one may leave later than the other at times. Under normal circumstances, we can give couples the same days off to help you enjoy them together.
Our Work Environment
Many of our jobs involve working outside in excessive temperature, standing on your feet for long periods of time on uneven terrain, in all types of weather; you may be asked to lift items 5-50 pounds routinely, with some repetitive motion, all while in costume or uniform. We schedule work hours based on park attendance. This means our employees are frequently asked to work weekend and holidays. Evening hours are also required at some of our properties. Please know that hours are not guaranteed since we are a weather and guest driven business. The physical nature of our positions require special mention. Depending on your work assignment, it takes a good bit of walking to get through your day. Our positions require you to be on your feet and actively involved working with our guests. Also, some of our positions such as Ride Operations and Food Services will require you to be outdoors and exposed to the elements of sun, temperature variations and rain. The majority of work assignments are not air-conditioned. When you work in the amusement park environment you will need to be able to handle the weather as well as the crowds with a smile. We have included a table below of weather-related facts that will give you an idea of the temperatures and precipitation that our area experiences in a given year.

SMOKING - Silver Dollar City Attractions has a very strict smoking policy. Employees cannot smoke in front of guests at any time and can only smoke in designated areas. There are not special smoke breaks, but employees can use their normal break period for this activity.
BREAKS - The amount of break time is dependent on the length of the shift worked and the number of breakers who are available to provide the break. For each shift of 5.25 hours or longer, the employee is eligible for a 30 minute unpaid meal break. For every 4 hours worked, the employee is eligible for a 10 minute paid rest break. This includes travel to and from break areas.
COSTUMING - All positions require a costume or uniform while working. We have a costume shop on all properties that will provide the proper attire. You are given clothing to take care of while you are employed. At the end of your job commitment, you will be asked to return everything was checked out to you at the beginning of your employment. Employees are responsible for their own shoes. We ask that you pick something that is comfortable and will allow you to work on your feet with the most comfort. Please ensure the shoes are black in color with no insignias visible to our guests. A further list of costuming and grooming requirements is available upon request.
Campgrounds
You are able to pick the atmosphere you would like to settle into for your work commitment time. If you like to fish, there are campgrounds near Table Rock Lake and Taneycomo Lake. If you prefer looking down over the city lights and watching the nightly firework displays from the glow of your campfire, there are campgrounds that provide this as well. Find campgrounds secluded from the city where you are surrounded by trees and fresh air. Or camp right in the middle of Branson, within walking distance to over 400 restaurants, 45 live theaters and shopping. Long term campground spaces are reserved very quickly in this area. Ask about accommodations such as size of campsite, cable and internet access, distance to the property for which you will be working, shuttle service, laundry facilities and anything you might be accustomed to. A partial list of campgrounds is provided in the employment packet you will receive.
