Program Guidelines and Pay
The amount of the donation to your organization is dependent on the number of volunteers your organization supplies and the amount of hours they work. Volunteer workers will make between $7.00 and $7.50 per hour depending on work location. One check is written to the organization for the total number of hours worked. A specific number of volunteers will be required for each volunteer day and starting and ending times will vary. The information will be communicated prior to the work date to all groups who have submitted information indicating interest in the program.
Paperwork Required
Your organization will be asked to complete a contract. A representative of the non-profit group who is authorized to sign legal paperwork must sign the contract. Each individual in your group will also be asked to sign a Release and Indemnity Agreement form and a Publicity and Promotion release. (Participants under the age of 18 must also have a guardian's signature.) If your group is selected to participate, you will be contacted regarding this paperwork.
Types of Positions Available
The positions available depend on the property and time of year. Many of our volunteers will be assigned to work at a food venue at Silver Dollar City or Celebration City. Duties include preparing foods, cooking, cleaning, taking orders and cash handling. These positions require the ability to stand for long periods of time. Celebration City also host various special events that may require volunteers to work in food service, carnival games and street cleaning.
Age Requirements
All volunteers must be at least 16 years of age or older. Volunteers under the age of 18 years old must provide proof of age and their parent/guardian must sign a Release and Indemnity Agreement form and a Publicity and Promotion release.

What is the Dress Code?
The following is a list of the appropriate wardrobe for your time on our parks. The wardrobe must be followed exactly. No Exceptions! The wardrobe guidelines are designed to meet theming, safety, and health standards. ANY VIOLATION WILL RESULT IN BEING ASKED TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM OR BEING SENT HOME AND NOT BEING ALLOWED TO WORK. It is the group leader's responsibility to ensure that all participants are dressed properly. All costumes issued by the costume shop are company property and work volunteers are required to turn them in at the end of the work volunteer shift. How hard will the work be?
We call this program the "Volunteer Worker program" for a specific reason. Volunteer Workers are assigned "real" work that assists us in helping our Guests. You will be assigned strenuous and often dirty work. Please be prepared for long periods of standing, walking, and communicating.
How long are the shifts?
The shifts will vary with the park operating schedule. During Christmas the shifts are for the evening to match the operating schedule. Shifts may also vary depending on the job assignment and location. Individuals assigned must be available to work an entire shift. No sharing of shifts between two individuals will be allowed.

How many volunteers do I need and can I bring more than requested?
The number of volunteers needed will change throughout the season. It will be communicated when we contact all interested groups. Once you are scheduled to work, please do not bring additional volunteers. We are working off of a request list when we book non-profit groups. We base our need of volunteers on the need of the Silver Dollar City and Celebration City teams requesting assistance. Please remember we cannot provide work/pay for additional volunteers above the number we have discussed.

What is expected from the Volunteers?
"Create Memories Worth Repeating." You should leave our park guests feeling as if a professional individual has treated them with genuine hospitality. You are representing Silver Dollar City and Celebration City so we ask that you act in a professional manner at all times.

Can I receive tips or gratuities?
At no time should you solicit for tips or donations for your non-profit organization. If someone forces a tip on you, you should place the money in a designated location. Never place any money in your pocket.

Can I solicit for my non-profit organization?
It is against Silver Dollar City's policy for any person or group to solicit or distribute literature on our property at any time.

What if my group has to cancel?
Arrangements for you to work for Silver Dollar City or Celebration City will be made far in advance to the event date and we are counting on your group to staff the work location. If the group needs to cancel, twelve (12) days notice must be given to allow ample time for a replacement group to be contacted. Cancellations will affect your group's ability to work future events. If an individual in a group needs to cancel, it is the group leader's responsibility to find a replacement.

What exactly will I be doing?
The majority of the time you will be working in food service locations. You will be preparing food, cashiering and cleaning. Be prepared to get dirty. These are not the cleanest jobs on park. Remember, most of these locations are not climate controlled.
Who will I be working with?
You will be working with employees of Silver Dollar City and Celebration City and possibly other volunteers. If you have questions, please direct them to a park employee. Don't be afraid to ask! Please be flexible and willing to work in any capacity needed. As our attendance grows during the day, so does our need for flexible volunteers.
What do I need to expect from the crowds?
Most of our locations are very busy. Expect large crowds of people. Most of the guests are very nice. However, there are a few who will be impolite. If a guest has a problem that you cannot solve, find an employee to assist. Please remember to remain calm and smile.
What do you expect from me?
As a volunteer at Silver Dollar City or Celebration City, you represent the park as much as a regular employee does. Remember everything you say and do is a reflection on the park. We expect you to be kind and courteous at all times. Please remember to follow our guidelines so the day will run as smoothly as possible. We want to make sure that the guests enjoy their day as well as you!
