Park to Open Late For End of Summer Event
August 18, 19 and 20 - 4 p.m. - 10 p.m.

Visitors to the Silver Dollar City theme park have a chance to participate in a limited, specially-priced, 3-day event never tried before in the attraction's nearly five-decade history: Moonlight Madness! The event is August 18, 19 and 20 with the park opening at 4 p.m. and closing at 10 p.m. Rides will be running in the darkness of night, plus there will be special deals on nighttime meals and back-to-school sales in select shops.

"Summer's end always comes so quickly. This year, we wanted to create a fun, unique way for guests to end their summer," said Brad Thomas, general manager of Silver Dollar City. "This will be the first time ever guests can ride many of our rides at night." In addition to the roller coasters, the Giant Swing, and all ten rides of The Grand Exposition, water rides will also be open, such as Lost River of the Ozarks and American Plunge.

Admission to the event is twenty dollars and season pass holders are invited free of additional charge. In addition to the rides and selected shops, there will be one show featured; Springfield's Skinny Improv will perform each evening. "We're looking forward to lots of families spending some great fun together riding our rides into the night," said Thomas.

White Water Adds Dates, Too!

In addition to Silver Dollar City being open at night, White Water has added two special days, August 18 & 20, for families to get to The Beach Within Reach. The park will open at 11 a.m. and close at 4 p.m. - also with a specially-priced admission of twenty dollars.
